Artists and Art Lovers, You’re Missing Out If you Fail to Visit the National Gallery of Canada During Your Ottawa Stay

I’m very fortunate to live in Ottawa. As an artist, visiting the National Gallery of Canada is a no-brainer. For CAD$16 a day or CAD$24(gives you access to Paul Gauguin’s portraits) you get to see all kinds or arts from Renaissance to Contemporary art! Yes, you get to see paintings by Gauguin, Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, and other artists from around the world. It’s so extensive that you have to spend the whole day just to pay attention to unique stories that every painting tells. Although my husband didn’t enjoy it as much as I did because he doesn’t like to walk around for over 2 hrs… and he’s not much of an art lover like myself. It was truly great and amazing! I will definitely go back there with my parents. Going into every room is like discovering layer after layer of wonder!:) The National Gallery of Canada also hosts exhibits, events and workshops. They also have a gift shop and a cafe – which is great if you don’t want to be bothered to walk elsewhere for a cup of coffee or a snack. If you want to take advantage of all these, it’s cheaper to get an annual membership!
